Garber Christmas Program
I was actually impressed this year with the program. You could hear the kids in the play and the younger kids were awesome with their songs. Here are a few pics.

on the third day of Christmas...
...Grandma was there for me when I really needed her!
Chad's surgery to FINALLY repair his deviated septum was today & all went well. He has been more-than-usual nauseated & vomiting from the anesthesia...it seemed extreme to me that he was still vomiting as they were wheeling him out the door to come home, but he's so much better now that I guess they knew what they were doing.
We had to be at the hospital at 6:30 & didn't leave until just after 5 tonight. Thank goodness for Mom chauffering Cade to & from daycare today. She stayed with us last night so she could be here when we left so early, got Cade up/breakfast/dressed, and to & from school. On top of that, she brought over all the soup, sprite, & saltines we needed, escorted me to the pharmacy for Chad's meds after he was propped up in bed at home, and then helped me get Cade to bed. I never could have made it through today without Mom, and I am SOOO thankful!

EEG
We had another EEG today just to make sure there isn't anything more than febrile seizures going on with Cade. Most children will outgrow febrile seizures by 5 years, and there is no correlation that febrile seizures cause epilepsy. So we are praying for another normal EEG & holding our breath until he outgrows this!
In theory, the test should be easy since Cade sleeps through it all. (This photo was taken just at the end when we were waking him up.) In reality, getting him to sleep in the middle of the morning in a strange place requires him to be sleep deprived by staying up 2 hours past his usual bedtime & waking up 2 hours before his usual waketime, then keep him awake all morning & in the car on the way. Then, try to get a toddler to curl up in your lap in a doctor's office with a strange lady sitting in the room with the computer monitors on & people walking up & down the hall just outside the door. Finally, after he's asleep the technician proceeds to scrub & place some 20+ electrodes all over his head & chest. I guess I'm saying if you could see me on the other end of the camera, it'd be even scarier! :) Cade was a trooper & did great. We'll get results soon...keep us in your prayers!

Making Fudge!
Today Josh decided he wanted to make Fudge. Tim, who usually supervises this endeavor, went with his dad to check cattle. So it was up to Josh, Jenni and I.
Josh read the recipe, added all ingredients, and stood at the stove stirring till it reached the right temperature. The only help I offered was to get the marshmellow creme stirred in. It was a little thick for him to get it combined. I was so proud of him. It turned out really tasty!
Way to go Josh!

I've finally fallen for it!
I have signed up to sell Scentsy! Yes, it's an annoying Home Marketing scheme, but I really do like their products. I received my samples today, so we can test them all at Thanksgiving...because, YES, this is what you ALL are receiving for Christmas! Go ahead & pick out your gift on my webpage: http://www.scentsy.com/vesta
Save your Mii to your Wii remote
Don't forget to save your Mii to your remote before Thanksgiving! In the Mii Channel on your Wii, there is an icon to save your Mii to your remote. Then don't forget to bring your Wii remotes! It will be fun to have everyone's Mii, but we can use guest Miis if you forget.
So glad to see Bengi back on the posts!!!
OH...and please do NOT forget your Gratitude List!!!

Hit a Deer!
Ok, I am as nervous and flustered as I have ever been. Tonight after Jake's tutoring we were on our way home. I had an uneasy feeling as I was traveling across black bear creek and I slowed from 70 to about 50 miles per hour. Jessi was in the front seat, Jake and Josh were in the back seat. I saw him about I don't know 30 yards (I'm really bad with distance). He was in the middle of the road headed north. I slammed on the brakes and pulled clear over on the shoulder. Of course the damn thing turned around and ran right at me. I hit him on the shoulder I think. It busted out my lights on the driver side and put a dent in my door. And a dent on the hood that isn't bad. Jake was crying, Jessi was laughing, I was freaked out. If I hadn't had that feeling and slowed down, I think I would have hit him straight on and probably had him through the windshield. He had a huge rack of horns. It was the scariest thing that has ever happened to me. Thank God my kids are OK!

What do you all think of pot-luck for Thanksgiving?
Since this is our first year to host & since I am the least experienced at all the Thanksgiving staples, I would hate to disappoint & be fired from hosting! I also think it would be fun for everyone to be involved in the preparation in some way...

You are welcome to bring the groceries & prepare your item at my house or bring fully or partially prepared. Please let me know what you will need & arrive in plenty of time to prepare your item. Also let me know if you want to "switch" your assignments. :)
